Apel la proiect în cadrul Festivalului Strasbourg-Méditerranée 2015

Appel organizat de către Association Strasbourg-Méditerranée cu ajutorul spațiului Platforma

Festivalul Strasbourg-Méditerranée propune pentru a 9-a ediție titlul Rêver la ville/Dreaming the city, care circumscrie o tematică vastă de explorare a potențialului politic și social al orașului – de la piețele ocupate, producătoare de revoluții, până la cartografierile subiective, la intersecția între sosiri, traversări și plecări, în care orașele Europei mediteraneene sunt destinații visate de persoanele migrante, spații ale discriminării sau teritorii în continuă remodelare culturală.

Strasbourg poartă încărcătura simbolică dată de rolul său geo-politic. De 18 ani, asociația Strasbourg-Méditerranée explorează din perspective diferite, prin festivalul care angajează porțiuni mari din oraș, subiecte sensibile legate de migrație și raporturi de putere în cadrul țărilor care mărginesc Marea Mediterană.

În 2015, orașul însuși (de la generic urban la specific geografic) este propus ca temă și, prin prezentul apel la proiect, o invitație specială este extinsă artiștilor și artistelor din România.

Pentru a răspunde apelului la proiecte, singurele limitări sunt cele sugerate de tematica festivalului, așa cum o veți descoperi în textul atașat prezentului apel. Propunerile care pot fi trimise sunt nerestricționate de mediu: ne așteptăm la orice, de la concepte curatoriale/expoziții până la performance-uri, producții teatrale, muzicale/de sunet, film/video, integrând sau nu și workshopuri/dezbateri etc. – provenind de la o persoană sau un grup, realizate independent sau prin intermediul unei asociații.

Propunerea selectată va beneficia de un buget maxim de 15.000 euro pentru a fi realizată și/sau prezentată/expusă în cadrul Festivalului (bugetul este acordat de către orașul Strasbourg prin intermediul Asociației Strasbourg-Méditerranée, organizatoare a Festivalului).

În acest scop, trimiteți până pe 17 aprilie 2015, ora 12.00 pm (ora României), pe adresa de email festivalstrasbourg2015@gmail.com, într-un singur document PDF, în limba engleză sau franceză, aplicația conținând următoarele documente:

1. Propunere de proiect – maxim 3 pagini A4 (incluzând: fundamentare teoretică, descriere proiect, inclusiv din punctul de vedere al etapelor și nevoilor de producție, eventuale sugestii de locații în orașul Strasbourg*, etape de desfășurare ale proiectului în cadrul Festivalului).

*Pot fi trimise și propuneri de desfășurare în spațiul public (parțială sau totală), țineți cont însă de datele climatice (festivalul are loc la începutul iernii) și de faptul că în acea perioadă centrul orașului este foarte decorat de sărbători.

Sugestiile de locații sunt orientative (și presupun o cercetare de internet prealabilă) – ele vor fi rediscutate după selectarea proiectului. De obicei organizatorii/oarele Festivalului discută și aleg împreună cu artiștii/tele, dintre spațiile și locațiile care sunt disponibile, pe aceea care se potrivește cel mai bine nevoilor fiecărui proiect.

2. CV-uri participanți/te (dacă este un proiect curatorial sau un proiect care implică mai multe persoane sunt suficiente cv-urile organizatorilor/oarelor principali/le, care vor asuma și rolul de coordonare al proiectului pe parcursul său). Maxim 2 pagini A4 per CV.
3. Portofoliu participanți/te (în format PDF pentru text/imagine, maxim 30 pg., sau document PDF care să includă link online pentru film/video, maxim 20 minute în total, link online pentru sunet, maxim 20 minute în total). Verificați funcționalitatea linkurilor înainte de a trimite. Nu uitați să includeți parola dacă linkurile online sunt protejate de o parolă.
4. Propunere de buget (inclusiv detaliere și justificare cheltuieli), maxim 3 pg. A4. Bugetul maxim orientativ este de 15.000 euro.

Pentru a realiza propunerea de buget țineți cont de următoarele:

• Costuri de producție și achiziție materiale justificate pentru realizarea proiectului (în cazul unui proiect nou produs)
• Onorarii artiști/te
• Costuri transport lucrări România-Strasbourg și retur (în cazul în care este necesar transport special), eventuale asigurări ale acestora.
• Cazare și transport persoane (asociate instalării și/sau realizării proiectului), per diem pentru perioada în care persoanele care instalează și/sau realizează proiectul se vor afla la Strasbourg, estimări închirieri de locații pentru desfășurarea proiectului.
• Vă rugăm precizați, separat de bugetul solicitat către Festival, eventualele contribuții proprii sau alte surse bugetare, dacă ele există.

 

Festivalul a fost întotdeauna manifest deschis spre discursuri anti-discriminare și anti-instrumentalizare și încurajează aplicațiile din partea persoanelor care se identifică ca făcând parte din grupuri sau categorii sociale discriminate.

Proiectul câștigător va fi anunțat, în urma procesului de selecție, în prima săptămână a lunii Iunie 2015.

Call for Projects for the Festival Strasbourg-Méditerranée 2015

Organized by Association Strasbourg-Méditerranée with the help of Platforma space

Strasbourg, Nov. 21 – Dec. 5 2015

The Strasbourg-Méditerranée Festival proposes for its 9th edition the title Rêver la ville/Dreaming the city, which covers the vast topic of exploration of the political and social potential of cities – from occupied squares, producers of revolutions, to subjective mappings, at the intersection between arrivals, crossings and departures, where the towns and cities of Mediterranean Europe are, in the same time, dream destinations for migrants, spaces of discrimination or territories of continuous cultural remodelling.

Strasbourg bears the symbolical load of its geo-political role. For 18 years, the Strasbourg-Méditerranée Association has been exploring from various perspectives, through the festival which engages large portions of the city, sensitive subjects of migration and power play within the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

In 2015 the city itself (from the urban generic to the geographically specific) becomes the theme and, by our present call for projects, a special invitation is extended to artists from Romania.

To answer the call, the only limitations are the ones implied by the concepts of the festival that you can discover in the text attached to the call. Proposals can be sent with no restrictions regarding means of expression: we expect anything from curatorial/exhibition concepts to performances, theatre productions, music/sound, film/video, including or not workshops and debates, etc. – coming from one person or from a group, made independently or through an association.

The selected proposal will have a top budget of 15.000 euros to be realized and/or presented/exhibited in the frame of the Festival (the budged is granted by the city of Strasbourg through the intermediary of the festival organizer, Association Strasbourg-Méditerranée)

The applications must be sent until April 17 2015, 12 pm (Romanian time) to the email festivalstrasbourg2015@gmail.com, in a single PDF document, in English or French. Please include the following documents:

1. Project proposal – maximum 3 A4 pages (including: theoretical fundament, description of project – with stages and needs for production, development of the project within/during the festival, suggested locations in Strasbourg may be included*)

* You can send proposals for projects happening (partially or in totality) in public space, but please consider climatic conditions (the festival takes place at the beginning of winter) and the fact that the city centre is heavily decorated for the holydays.

The suggested locations are preliminary (as they would be based on internet research at this stage) and can be addressed again once the project is selected. Usually the festival organizers discuss and select together with the artists the available venues or locations to best suit the needs of the projects.

2. CVs of participants (in the case of curatorial projects, or of projects done with bigger teams, the CVs of the main organizers, who would assume the coordination of the project, are sufficient). Maximum 2 A4 pages per CV.
3. Portfolio of participants – in PDF format for text/image, maximum 30 pages, or a PDF document with online link for film/video samples (maximum 20 minutes in total) or with online link to sound samples (maximum 20 minutes in total). Please check that the links function well before sending them and include passwords if links are password protected.
4. Budget proposal (including details and justifications of expenses), maximum 3 A4 pages. Following selection, this budget will be finalized together with the organizers of the festival.

For the budget proposal, consider:

• Production costs and costs for buying the materials justified for making the project (if the project is a new production).
• Artists’ fees.
• Costs for transporting the works/components of the project from Romania to Strasbourg and back (if special transportation is needed) and for the eventual insurance.
• Accommodation and transport fees for the persons installing or presenting the project, per diem for the period spent installing or presenting the project for the Festival in Strasbourg, estimated locations rentals for the project.
• Please indicate also your other financial sources, and own contributions if they exist.

 

The Festival was always manifestly open to anti-discrimination and anti-instrumentalization discourses and it strongly encourages applications from persons who identify themselves as part of discriminated groups/social categories.

Following selection, the winning project will be announced in the first week of June 2015.
